Our mission is to provide a platform that keeps students updated on the decisions being made around them regarding education, and to provide students with a place to stand up for the elements of our educational system that matter to them. We seek to inspire student driven change, for the better.

Why I created The Voices Of Tomorrow

My name is Ethan Anding and I am the founder of VOT. I’m a fellow student at Soldotna high school, and during my junior year in my Language arts class I had to write an essay regarding a current event in our community. I decided to write an essay regarding our educational funding, and then followed that up by attending one of our local school budget meetings. There I learned that our school board is facing a $17 million deficit, and without any guaranteed increase of funding from the state, schools across the Peninsula could be looking at closure, or the cutting of extracurriculars. Furthering this issue, when I talked to my friends about this, they didn’t even know it was going on. With all of that in my head I couldn’t just sit around and do nothing as our educational system failed. So I decided to create this website. I decided to stand up and share my story, with the hope that others would follow. I decided that I was done sitting around hoping for change, and I decided to do something. Education is the basis of almost every kids life, its shaped me and many other students out there into the people we are today. I created VOT to spread awareness, to give students their voice, so that we can inspire change, for the better.
